Returns and refunds

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery. This policy applies to orders shipped to the United States and to every other destination we ship to.

How to start a return
Email us at info@nihonbashi.cloud with your order number and the reason for the return. We reply within 1–2 business days (Japan Standard Time) with return instructions. Please do not send items back before we reply; packages sent without a return request may not be accepted.

Condition of returned items
Items must be unused and in their original packaging. Books must be free of writing and damage that was not present on delivery.

Return shipping costs
If the item arrived damaged, defective, or is not the item you ordered, we pay for the return (or refund you without requiring a return). For all other returns, the customer pays the return shipping cost.

Refunds
We issue refunds to the original payment method within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item. For damaged, defective, or incorrect items, we refund the full amount paid, including shipping and any duties and taxes collected at checkout. For other returns, we refund the item price.

Items that cannot be returned
Opened food and beverages, and opened personal care products, cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons unless they arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect.

Cancellations and unavailable items
You can cancel an order free of charge before it ships by emailing us. Some items are procured in Japan after your order is placed; if an item becomes unavailable, we will tell you and refund it in full.

Damaged or incorrect items
Please inspect your order on arrival and contact us within 30 days of delivery with photos of the item and the packaging, so we can make it right.

European Union
If your order is shipped to the European Union, you may also cancel or return it within 14 days of delivery for any reason, under the same conditions described above.
