Suppin: Rough Illustrations Before Lines and Colors

This book, published by Shoeisha, presents a collection of rough illustrations in their 'suppin' or 'bare-faced' state – before the final lines are cleaned up and colors are added. It offers a behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process, showcasing the initial sketches and drafts that form the foundation of finished artwork. This provides valuable insight for aspiring artists and anyone interested in understanding the creative steps involved in illustration. Note: The text is entirely in Japanese. Brand New Japanese Edition.
